Working with your architects and engineers, AeroSystem's Rolling DoorŪ division develops innovative systems to meet a wide range of economic, safety, performance and aesthetic design criteria. And that means you get the most door - and the most value - from an AeroSystems Hangar Door System.
AeroSystems specializes in horizontal rolling door systems, which are supported by floor-mounted rails. Each door's top guide rollers travel in guide structurals, allowing for smooth, even door movement and transferring half of the wind load to the building itself. Top guide configurations are based on building deflection across door openings.
Another specialty is our Swing Plenum Door System, designed to provide not only a hangar door system but also an air filtration system (within the hangar door) for use in applications where air quality control is a necessity.
Our custom-designed door systems include:
Biparting - Even number of leaves divided in the center, with half rolling to opposite sides when opened. Two center leaves are motor-operated and power the trailing leaves. Advantage: Highly symmetrical appearance, with a smooth operating system that allows doors to be opened to precise widths.
Unidirectional - A variable number of leaves travel in one direction to the open position. The motor operator is in the lead leaf (farthest from the pocket) and gathers the trailing leaves as it opens or closes. Advantage: Wind-defusing design features a smooth, horizontal rolling motion, allowing doors to precisely open to any width.
Canopy - Initial door movement is vertical, with an inward tilt so door projects outside the hangar, forming a canopy. Advantage: For limited headroom applications, a reliable all-weather system offers smooth, safe motion of fully counterweighted design.
Vertical Lift - Requires from one to five door sections, depending on available headroom. Inside mounting standard; outside mounting available for unique applications. Counter-balanced sections stack simultaneously above door opening. Advantage: Fast, reliable operation from a heavy-duty door system that's ideal for tough applications.
Craneway - Upward motion enables indoor overhead cranes to move outdoors through partitioned openings. Swing and lift movement provides multiple-use crane applications. Load doors use slide or swing action to work with crane doors for ground-level movement of materials and vehicles. Advantage: Both doors work together to secure building from the elements. Can be custom-designed for any crane-related application.
Independent - This system features a variable number of leaves, with each moving to any position along the building's width. The benefits include flexible hangar use and quick access to any opening position. Each leaf has a self-contained operating system and travels independently of the others.
Floating Group - A variable number of interconnected leaves open from either direction. Along building-width rails, the leaves stack for movement to a single point. The end leaves house duplicate motor operators, and the center leaves are interconnected between powered end leaves.
Tail Door - Tail doors provide clearance for large aircraft in low-sidewall hangars. Tail door openings are centered above bi-parting horizontal rolling doors and highly preferred for their motor-driven ease of operation. Functional requirements guide selection of the ideal system among available options.
Swing - Manually operated or motorized swing doors serve applications with limited clearance. For design constraints that don't allow floor-slide movement, irregular opening, monorail beam crane access, difficult sealing conditions and other special use requirements, swing doors are very functional. Doors hinge at jambs and swing inside or out. Larger doors may require leading edge support and drive wheels.
Doors from AeroSystems are manufactured to the highest standards of precision, quality and craftsmanship. This attention to detail delivers expertly designed door systems that look and work as well on the job as they did on the CAD screen.
